GCI exceeded my expectations on our basement project. Andrew’s experience shows in his craftsmanship and attention to detail. He had many great ideas to make our basement even better than we had planned. He and his crew were the exception to the rule when it comes to contractors. Andrew was always available to us in case a question arose. They were on time and on budget. When GCI gave a time that they were going to be at our home, they were there every time. There were no hidden or unexplained charges. GCI always made a point during construction to keep the work area unobtrusive and clean. I would highly recommend GCI Contracting.

Things we liked best about Andrew's work.
• He was always available for communication during the job.
• The wood work and trim detail are excellent, really showing off all the rooms.
• The kitchenette and bathroom tile work accent those areas perfectly.
• The recessed, accent, and dimmer lighting all add warmth and more-than- adequate illumination to all of the rooms.
• All architectural plans were followed, but thoughtful ideas and detailed suggestions made by Andrew added extra style and function to the overall design. For example, the space-saving pocket door to
the theater was a practical, functional solution for that area. And, the built-in bench in the mudroom will be a great asset f or entry to the basement f rom the backyard.
• The opening of the stairs to the main floor with the removal of the basement doorway and the installation of a banister, pickets, and column really make the basement feel like another level of our home
rather than 'just a finished basement'.

As with any new contractor, I had trepidations regardless of the references and glowing testimonials. The job I had done was enough to confirm that I had a contractor I could trust to do quality work, and to be available when needed. GCI not only did quality work, but were meticulous in everthing they did from tear out to replacement to clean up. When they were done with my first job, my home was cleaner than when they started. Our basement was just a big bland studded area left by the original contractor with no particular design. We interviewed 3 contractors and choose GCl. We showed Andrew the basement as it was and discussed with him what we would like to get. He presented a floor plan of the basement as it was and contrasted it with what we proposed. Having seen his work, we knew that he would do a fine job. He promised that he will complete the work within budget. Looking at the finished job, the basement looks like an extension of our home and not just like a basement. Andrew and his crew have done a fine job. Andrew was always available and ready to discuss any change or variance. Despite little bumps here or there, he always showed interest in meeting our needs. The finished product is neat and with the highest level of craftsmanship. Andrew and his crew have really transformed our basement from a place where we stored junk to an exquisite area where we can decorate and relax, watch movies and entertain our friends. And this was done within budget.

There were no surprises, all cost were thoroughly explained up front, communication with and from Andrew was always timely. Any adjustments we asked to make during the project Andrew gave us a price as a variance outside the proposal. Plus his proposal price never changed, we gave not one penny more than he said it would cost. Andrew also added items in which he did not charged for, saving us thousands of dollars. This kind of commitment is unheard of in the construction business.
